In September, we team up with KinderKare Nursery and Magdalen Court School to host a late summer fete. Other than providing a day of family fun for the residents of Exeter, we are also on a mission to raise lots of money for amazing local charity, Balloons.
Balloons is an abbreviation for ‘Bereavement and Loss Looking Onwards’. It is a charity that provides support for children, young people and their families before an expected death, or following the death, of someone significant in their lives.
Balloons’ aim is to inform, guide and support them while they manage the impact of that death. The work of Balloons is carried out by a professional, multi-skilled team of staff and trained volunteers. All services provided by Balloons are free and they rely entirely on donations and grants to be able to supply the vital support that they give to bereaved young people in Exeter, who would otherwise be suffering in silence.
We’re aiming to raise £500, which is enough to train a Grief Support Worker and allow them to visit a child for a full month. If you are able to join us on the 17th September to enjoy the fete, please sign up via the event on Facebook. If you cannot join us that day, but would still like to show your support for Balloons, we would be so grateful if you could place a donation on our JustGiving page.
